Spring is in Full Swing at Rancho Rosal!

Spring is here, and we’ve got plenty of exciting things to look forward to this month! From fun events and fundraisers to celebrating our amazing military-connected students, there’s something for everyone.

The PTA is at the heart of our school community, organizing events, fundraisers, and programs that enrich our students' education and overall school experience. Whether it's hosting spirit days, planning movie nights, providing classroom supplies, or enhancing the curriculum, the PTA plays a vital role in making Rancho Rosal a special place for all students.

But none of this is possible without the support and involvement of parents and guardians like you! Your time, ideas, and participation directly impact the success of our PTA initiatives. Whether you’re volunteering at events, attending meetings, or sharing feedback, your engagement helps ensure that we continue offering meaningful experiences and valuable resources to our students.

Looking ahead, we’re already preparing for the next school year. Be sure to mark your calendars for May 8th, when you’ll have the opportunity to meet the newly elected PTA board and join us in planning for an even better 2025-2026 school year.

April is the Month of the Military Child

Rancho Rosal is proud to honor our military-connected Stallions throughout April! The PTA is sponsoring a special author visit from military mom and author Monica Voicu Denniston, who will share her book, Maggie the Military Rat, with our students on April 11. Order forms were sent home this week for any families looking to purchase a copy of the book for your home library. These are due April 9. We’re also providing copies for our school library.

Join us every Friday in April by wearing purple to support our military kids. Plus, don’t miss Military Child Spirit Week (April 7-11) with fun dress-up days to celebrate these kids' strength and resilience:

Monday, April 7 – Hats Off to Military Kids: Wear your favorite hat.
Tuesday, April 8 – Proud to be an American: Wear red, white, and blue.
Wednesday, April 9 – Hero Day: Dress as a military hero or superhero.
Thursday, April 10 – Camo Day: Wear your favorite camo gear.
Friday, April 11 – Purple Up: Wear purple, the official color of military children.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate our incredible volunteers, teachers, and staff! We had an astonishing 26 nominees this year, highlighting the incredible dedication within our Rancho Rosal community.

What makes this recognition so meaningful is that nominations came from parents, fellow staff members, and students—all eager to celebrate the impact these individuals have had.

We are thrilled to announce the 2024-2025 Honorary Service Award Outstanding Teacher Award winners:

The Sultan Award honors students who go above and beyond, embodying the noble qualities of the Camarillo White Stallion—strength, grace, leadership, and perseverance. Gianna’s dedication and positive impact on our Rancho Rosal community make her a deserving recipient of this honor.

Celebrating Women in History!

This past week, our 5th graders brought history to life with incredible performances portraying influential women in history! It was a huge hit, and we loved seeing classes visit and enjoy the performances throughout the week.

A big thank you to PTA member, Kelly Kraljic for chairing this event and bringing this fantastic idea to our school. The PTA was proud to support by helping purchase props and costumes.

Special appreciation goes to Ms. Taminich, who assisted with scripts, practice sessions, and months of preparation to make this possible.

And, of course, a big round of applause for our talented Stallion performers: Kailani, Sloane, Pavlova, Melany, Zixi, Annabel, Zoey, and Darcy.

They brought Florence Nightingale, Lucille Ball, Frida Kahlo, Jane Austen, Rachel Balkovec, and Ruth Handler to life in such an engaging and inspiring way!

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week

Get ready to celebrate our amazing Rancho Rosal teachers and staff during Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, May 5-9! This is our chance to show gratitude for their hard work and dedication. Keep an eye out for a PTC email in the coming weeks with ways you can help make this celebration special!
